In countries like-U.S.A.,U.K. to become a doctor after your 12th Std. you need to get admission in a Registered Medical College.Providing you degree's like "M.D."/"M.S."{Duration-8 yrs.}
In South Asian countries like- India,China,Pakistan,etc to become a doctor after your 12th Std. you need to get admission in Registerd Medical College.But here there is UG degree named "M.B.B.S."{Duration-5.5 yrs.(4.5 yrs. study + 1 yr. Intenship}.After clearing "M.B.B.S." you will become a certified doctor.
-If you want to have a speciality(PG) after you'r M.B.B.S. you have to clear the entrance & get "M.D."(for Medicine)/"M.S."(for Surgery){Duration 3 yrs.},
either D.N.B.{Duration-3 yrs.}It is equivalent to "M.D."/"M.S." degree.Internationally the "DNB" is valid in many countries but not in the US/UK.
-But here's not a stop _you can have super speciality by clearing the entrance for "D.M."{Duration:3 yrs.}.
If you are a doctor here in India & wanted to become a U.S. Dr. -then after your MBBS you have to clear an entrance named "USMLE" & practise for 3 yrs. because none of the Indian Medical Degree's of UG/PG is valid in the U.S.A.
Similarly after M.B.B.S.to become a Doctor in U.K. you need to clear their screening test named "PLAB"
